A Jeep Thing...

With both of us enjoying nature photography, hiking, camping, and the outdoors in general (not to mention living in the mountains) it only made sense that we fell in love with Jeeps and their off road abilities.
It wasn't until after we moved to Idaho and the mountains of the northern panhandle that we really got hooked. At the time we had Tammy's Grand Cherokee and my Mustang. Our hiking trips that summer and fall into the mountains on the many forest service roads and trails very quickly got me hooked on the fun and adventure of off road driving too. That winter it became very clear the Mustang that handled Minnesota's winters so well just wasn't going to hack it in the mountains and so we bought my first Jeep, the Blue 2004 GC Laredo which you will see
on the "Old Friends" page.
The more exposure to trail and off road
driving we've gotten the more into it we get into it. In the fall
of 2005 Tammy traded off her silver Grand Cherokee for a yellow 2006
Unlimited Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. We went to the dealership on a
whim and test drove her up a rock face that was steeper than 50 degrees,
stock, from the factory the jeep went right on up the 150' face.
Needless to say that sold the Jeep right then and there. However,
before she left the dealership we decided to add a 4" lift and 33" tires
for another inch. About a year later after our Jeep addiction
gained a new level we traded off my blue Grand Cherokee for an '06
silver Rubicon. We call Tammy's Jeep, the yellow Rubicon above
"The Bee", short for Bumble Bee and the gray one (Mine) "The Ghost".
We've geared Tammy's up with a hard top and a rack to carry our Kayaks
while we usually keep the soft top on mine so we can take the top down to let
the wind blow thru our hair and to take in the many wonderful views...
Off road and trail driving has become the most addictive of
our hobbies, there's so many places to go and so many custom modifications you can do to a Jeep, not to mention the fun of putting yourself and your Jeep to the test.
