Tinker (Malodorous Mewer)
.jpg)
Tinker is a very
intelligent and affectionate kitty who chose us one day while visiting some friends of ours in Spokane.
Our friends found her one cold fall day in 2004 as the last surviving kitten in a liter that had been dumped in the middle of the road to their house. They took her in and nursed her back to health but needed to find her a permanent home.
While we were visiting Tinker seemed to take to me right away, before we knew she needed a new home. Over a few hours Tinker and I fell in love. Noticing this and hearing me talk to Tinker telling her I wish I could take her home our friends offered her to us.
They had been calling her Stinker and warned us of her little malady but we had already fallen for her. We had a theory that she hadn't yet been weaned from her mother before she was separated. Finding the right food was the ticket to a healthy tummy for Tinker.
She is very intelligent
for a kitty, she learns quickly and is an excellent problem solver who
easily see's thru tricks and cons when we play with her and regularly
employs her gift to get what she wants and go where she will making her
very mischievous. She also has a remarkable talent for
communicating verbally, for example she always lets us know when she is
about to pass us going up or down stairs, clearly communicates yes and
no when talking to her (implied thru consistently using the same kitty
sounds and mannerisms), and is trying her darnedest to learn/mimic human
speech, right now she is working on "Hello". Her favorite things
include pinning us down on the sofa then falling asleep on us, searching
for and playing with twist ties, hunting (Misty & laser dots), and
sleeping on our many convenient kitty warmers (aka expensive
electronics).
Her best friend of course
is Misty, they are always together and seem to do everything together.
Tinker took it upon herself to raise Misty when she was only weeks old
and has proven to be a very good teacher, not only of typical kitty
things like hunting but finer things such as how to communicate with us.
Tinker will always sacrifice whatever she is doing or playing with if
she thinks Misty would like it.
