On our way home from Mexico
we visited a friend in Phoenix and then headed north to spend a
few days in the Grand Canyon. This is sunset at
Sunset Crater
Volcano north of Flagstaff, AZ. |

The
following beautiful day on the
Grand Canyon's
south rim. |

So pretty, we hope to go
hiking in the canyon someday. |

Leaving
the south rim we found this abandoned adobe and stone shack. |

Prickly Pear Cactus blooming
on our way to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon on my '99 summer
vacation. |
|
I've
always had a green thumb and grew many types of plants when I
was growing up. I found cacti to be my favorite. |

I've always had a knack for
getting cacti to bloom, something I am told is difficult in
captivity. Since then I've always been captivated by blooming
cacti. |

Sunset
that day on from the north rim. What a beautiful night it turned
out to be, camping in the north rim's pine forests with a gentle
breeze blowing. |
