We followed the river right up to the top of the falls. Here is a closer up of the rapids.		This volcanic rock formation is also just visible in the first of our Palouse Falls shots on the previous page just to the left of the falls.

A sample of the grassland which surrounds Palouse Falls.		On May 23rd of 2004 we hiked to the summit of Chilco Peak which is about 30 miles north of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

The hike was one of our more challenging ones so far that year but the views from 5600' were well worth it.		This view looking north is of the southern end of Lake Pend Orielle.
