A May 2006 trip to Mount Saint Helens National Volcanic Monument. The lake to the left is Coldwater Lake.		These views are from the Coldwater Ridge Visitors Center. Note the gases being vented by the volcano.

Hiking along the shore of Coldwater Lake. Cut-Throat Trout are the most common fish in these waters.		More of Coldwater Lake. The lake formed after the 1980 eruption when the creek was blocked by debris.

This little ground squirrel said "Hi" to us as we passed. There are no standing trees this close to the mountain.		A closer view of Saint Helens from the Johnston Ridge Visitor Center.
