After some trail driving we stopped at the end of the trail for a hike just below 7000 feet in altitude.		Notice how stunted the trees are at this height. You can also tell from which direction the prevailing winds come from as the trees have little or no branches on that side.

Some of the peaks looking south and east.		High enough in altitude snow persists year round.

This scene caught our attention for many reasons including the beautiful fall colors showing in the low vegetation.		These peaks stood out as they are much pointier than many of the surrounding peaks.
